History
The Ottawa Arab Forum is an initiative that was initiated as part of the action plans of the Ottawa Arab Community Project (OACP). The project, funded by the Trillium Foundation, was initiated by the National Council on Canada-Arab Relations (NCCAR) in January 2006 in order to create links between Arab organizations based in the Ottawa region, and to improve communication, understanding, and create a better social climate amongst them. The project facilitated communications between various Arab organizations in Ottawa, held meetings to discuss action plans, conducted workshops on government and media relations, and produced a new newsletter, the Ottawa Focus, for the Arab community. For more information about the project, please refer to the Ottawa Arab Community Project.
